With continually changing environmental regulations, it is critical for businesses to be aware of their compliance status. CWM staff members offer experience in environmental regulations and compliance, both state and federal.

Often, companies will begin with an audit to assess their compliance status. With the information gathered during the audit, companies are able to make more informed decisions concerning compliance and develop a compliance plan that is more effective and cost efficient. Also, certain environmental audits are subject to the environmental audit privilege and can protect a company from penalties.

CWM also has experience working with clients and their legal counsel to deal with enforcement issues. CWM provides technical and regulatory experience to research and interpret violations, negotiate with regulatory agencies to develop Compliance Commitment Agreements (CCA) and implement the terms of the CCA. When enforcement issues cannot be settled or resolved without litigation, CWM can also serve as the technical advisor to legal counsel in preparation of legal filings; our personnel are also prepared to serve as expert witnesses.
